We are a non-smoking facility, both in the office and on the grounds. We have a no food or drink policy in our waiting room. Infants may have bottles in the exam room, but please leave food items and "sippy" cups at home. There are water fountains in each waiting room.

Please sign in at the window when you arrive. We have a well waiting area and a sick waiting area. Our well waiting area is on the left when you enter our office, and our sick waiting area is on the right. If you have a well check appointment but your child has a fever and signs of illness, please let the receptionist know and she will direct you to the appropriate area.

office_copy.jpgExam rooms are small and can accommodate only 1 to 2 caregivers and the patient(s). We can serve your child better if friends and other family members remain at home.

cellphones.jpg
Cell phones must be turned off prior to entering the exam room area. It is difficult for us to give your child the needed attention when your phone is ringing.

If your child is ill during the day, please call our office as soon as you feel you need our assistance. We begin taking phone calls at 8:30 a.m. Your phone call will be received by our receptionist and, in most cases, directed to our nurses' voice mail. Please leave a brief message and a phone number where you will be available for the next hour or two. Our experienced nurses will call you as quickly as possible. Some illnesses require an office visit that day, some can be seen within the next few days, and some illnesses can be managed at home. Please let our nurses help you.

Well child visits are typically scheduled 6-8 weeks in advance. If your child is under age 2, we recommend that you make an appointment for your child's next well check before you leave our office. We request that you notify us at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to keep your appointment.

First call the regular office number 770-227-5510. Your call will be answered by our answering service. Then a nurse from Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Call Center will contact you and assess your child's immediate needs. If a doctor's care is needed, the nurse will call one of our five pediatricians. One of our doctors is always on call and available for emergencies. Please call us before you go to the Emergency Room.

Requests for refills on medications should be made during office hours so that your child's chart can be reviewed. Please call 48 hours in advance for prescriptions that will be picked up at the office. In an emergency we call in certain medications after hours; however, we do not call in antibiotics.

records.jpg
Please allow 48 hours if you request a copy of your child's medical record. Records will be faxed to another doctor's office at no charge if we receive the proper release of information and request for records from that office. A $10 fee will be assessed for personal copies. We cannot mail records.

referral.jpg
If one of our doctors feels your child needs to see a specialist, you will be given a referral instruction form prior to leaving the office. If your insurance requires a referral release, please call our referral department 72 hours prior to your appointment so that we can process your request.

Please bring your current insurance card when you come for your appointment. Be prepared to pay the co-pay or deductible required by your insurance on the day of your visit. We accept many insurance plans and our billing department will submit your claim to your insurance company
if we are contracted with them. You are responsible for any charges not covered by your plan.
